Pontefract Music Centre

WELCOME                                                                                                     How To Find Us

Welcome to Pontefract Music Centre. We meet at New College, Pontefract every Saturday morning. Pontefract Music Centre is a thriving place with an attendance of nearly two hundred children. The Centre has 8 ensemble groups, which include woodwind, brass, percussion and string players. In 2012 the Music Centre moved into the new Performing Arts building at Pontefract New College which has provided us with fantastic rehearsal spaces. A tuck shop is also available for pupils to buy some well-earned sweets.

We have regular concerts at Christmas and in the summer which showcase all the Music Centre ensembles with some groups also performing in the community at venues such as St. Giles church, De Lacey Gardens, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Pontefract Town Centre. At Pontefract Music Centre we aim to provide pupils with an enjoyable and engaging musical experience in a fun and welcoming environment.

Music Centre runs every Saturday morning in term time and the cost of attending  and WMS Ensembles is only £43 per term. We always look forward to welcoming new young musicians so please come and visit us at any time or take part in a free taster session!
